How to Introduce Yourself and Someone In French
When we meet someone that we don't know, surely we have to introduce ourselves first before talk more. In addition, the way you introduce and present yourself provides people with a first impression of you. Most people begin forming an opinion of you within 3 seconds and these judgements can be difficult to modify.
Introducing Yourself to New People
1. Je m'appelle Jacqueline.
When you meet someone new, you tell your name by saying "Je m’appelle _____" in french. For example, if the name is Jacqueline, it would be like this…- Je m'appele Jacqueline.
- My name is Jacqueline.
- Nama saya Jacqueline.
If you want to khow their name after you introduce yourself, you can say like this :
- Je m'appele Jacqueline. Comment vous appelez-vous ?
- My name is Jacqueline. What’s your name?
- Nama saya Jacqueline. Siapa nama anda ?
2. Je viens de France.
Asking or providing additional information "Where are you from?" is important when we talk with foreigner. Just say "Je viens de _____ "in french. For example, if you're from france, it would be like this…
- Je viens de France
- I'm from France
- Saya berasal dari negara Perancis.
If you want to know the origin state someone new, just ask for :
- D'où venez-vous ?
- (Where do you come from ?)
- (Dari negara mana anda berasal ?)
3. J'habite à Paris.
Just tell the city or country into this phrase "J'habite à _____" . I’ll use Paris as an example.
- J'habite à Paris.
- I live in Paris
- Saya tinggal di Paris
When you want to ask "'where do you live", just say :
- Où habitez-vous ?
- Where do you live ?
- Dimana anda tinggal
4. J'ai 27 ans.
To tell your age, just tell "J’ai _____ ans" in French. For example, if the age is 27 , it would be like this :
- J'ai 27 ans
- I;m 27 years old
- Saya berumur 27 tahun.
5. Je suis enseignant(e).
If you want to tell your profession, just put your profession after this phrase "I'm _____".

When the first introduction, it will probably will start with these words.

Introducing People to Each Other
At somewhere, you are probably going to introduce other people to each other and talk with more than one person at a time, which makes conversation much more interesting.

Example :
